Data Deletion Instructions

You can request deletion of your VBLTY account and any data we hold about you, including data we collected from connected platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X). Three options below — pick whichever is fastest for you.

Option 1 — Delete from your account settings

Fastest. Self-serve. No email required.

1. Log in at vblty.com/login
2. Open Account Settings from the top-right user menu
3. Scroll to the Danger Zone section
4. Click Delete my account and confirm

Your account is immediately marked for deletion. All data (including connected-platform metrics, post history, OAuth tokens, brand voice configurations) is permanently deleted within 30 days. The 30-day window exists so we can recover your data if you change your mind. After 30 days the deletion is irreversible.

Option 2 — Email us

Send an email from the address on your account to privacy@vblty.com. Subject line: Data Deletion Request.

Include in the body:

• Your account email (must match the From address)
• Whether you want to delete your entire account or just specific connected platform data (e.g., “remove all Instagram data for handle @yourhandle but keep the rest”)
• (Optional) The reason — helps us improve the product

We respond within 30 days. Once verified, the requested data is deleted from production within 7 business days and from backups within 30 days.

Option 3 — Disconnect a platform without deleting your account

If you only want to stop pulling data from one connected platform (e.g., disconnect Instagram but keep your VBLTY account active):

1. Open /admin/brands/<your brand>/accounts
2. Find the platform card you want to disconnect
3. Click Disconnect

Disconnecting:

• Immediately revokes the OAuth token (we lose API access)
• Stops all future data collection from that platform
• Marks the account row as disabled in our database
• Historical metrics already collected remain in our database for analytics continuity unless you also email privacy@vblty.com to request their deletion

Tip: You can also revoke our app from the platform’s side directly:

• Instagram / Facebook: Settings → Apps and Websites → find “VBLTY” → Remove
• TikTok: Settings → Privacy → Apps that use your TikTok info → find “VBLTY” → Disconnect
• X (Twitter): Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions → find “VBLTY” → Revoke

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

• Your account record (email, password hash, billing references)
• Connected-platform OAuth tokens
• Brand profile and brand voice configurations
• Content drafts (captions, hashtags, image prompts) you created
• Generated images and videos stored in our object storage
• Per-post metrics we collected from connected platforms
• Per-account snapshots (follower counts, reach, demographics)
• Webhook logs that reference your accounts

What we keep

• Anonymized, aggregated usage data that cannot be tied back to you (used for product analytics)
• Records required to comply with legal, tax, or audit obligations (e.g., billing records for 7 years per IRS rules) — locked down and not used for any other purpose
• Backup snapshots taken in the 30 days before your deletion request — purged after 30 days

Verification

To prevent unauthorized deletion, we verify ownership before processing any email-based request. You may need to confirm a verification link sent to the email on your account, or answer a security question. If you no longer have access to the email on your account, contact us anyway and we’ll work with you to verify identity another way.

Specific to Meta / Instagram users

Per Meta Platform Policy, this page satisfies the “Data Deletion Instructions URL” requirement for our app. If you connected your Instagram or Facebook account to VBLTY and want us to delete the data we received from Meta:

1. Email privacy@vblty.com from the email tied to your Meta account
2. Include subject “Meta data deletion” and the IG/FB handle
3. We respond within 30 days with a confirmation code
4. You can verify deletion completed by checking your Meta App Settings page (the “VBLTY” entry will be gone)
